Land Rover SUVs are designed for off-road and tough-driving experiences, and with features like Terrain Response®, they can rise to every challenge without breaking a sweat. Whether you’re climbing mountains, crossing rivers, or forging your own trails, these features have your back on every drive. Test them out for yourself at Land Rover Asheville.

Terrain Response® Explained

The Terrain Response® program is a type of off-road technology you’ll find in capable new Land Rover SUVs. It’s designed to adapt to ground conditions, so you have the support you need, whatever the road — or off-road — might hold. You’ll have the choice of six different condition settings with this program: Grass/Gravel/Snow mode, Mud Ruts Mode, Sand Mode, Rock Crawl Mode, Wade Mode, and Auto Mode.

Additional Off-Road Features

Terrain Response® isn’t the only off-road feature available in new Land Rover SUVs. Here are some of the other programs you’ll find when you get behind the wheel:

  • All-Terrain Progress Control
  • Dynamic Stability Control
  • Electronic Traction Control
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Low-range gearing
  • Active differentials

Wading and Water Fording

The Terrain Response® offers a wading feature, to go along with the impressive ground clearance options available for Land Rover SUVs. The Range Rover and Land Rover Discovery have a maximum water fording capability of over 35 inches, and the Land Rover Defender is rated for more than 33 inches. They also come with water adventuring features like Wade Sensing, which allows you to calculate depth and monitor for potential hazards.
