Steps to Change a Flat Tire

- Retrieve your spare tire, car jack, and lug wrench from your vehicle
- Remove the hubcap and loosen the lug nuts
- Use the jack to raise your vehicle so the damaged tire is about six inches off the ground
- Unscrew the lug nuts and remove the flat tire
- Set the spare tire on the wheel and replace and tighten the nuts using your wrench
- Use the jack to lower the vehicle to the ground, and tighten the lug nuts until they are completely tight
- Safely remove your tools and stow them in your vehicle’s cargo area
