Land Rover vehicles are renowned for their durability, but even the toughest models need Land Rover service to keep performing their best. When you notice an issue with one of your tires, you might need to swap it out. Land Rover Asheville is here to help you learn how to change a flat tire.

How to Tell if Your Tire is Flat

There are a few ways to tell that you have a flat tire. Your SUV might pull to one side, the steering wheel might seem loose, and you might hear a flapping sound. If you notice any of these symptoms, pull over to a safe spot away from traffic. Have a look at your tires and see if any of them are lower than they should be.

Steps to Change a Flat Tire

Whether you’re commanding the roads or exploring the unpaved world, getting a flat tire is an annoying inconvenience. Fortunately, it’s a common occurrence that can be fixed easily. If you’re not able to get to our Land Rover service center immediately for our team to fix it, follow these steps:

  • Retrieve your spare tire, car jack, and lug wrench from your vehicle
  • Remove the hubcap and loosen the lug nuts
  • Use the jack to raise your vehicle so the damaged tire is about six inches off the ground
  • Unscrew the lug nuts and remove the flat tire
  • Set the spare tire on the wheel and replace and tighten the nuts using your wrench
  • Use the jack to lower the vehicle to the ground, and tighten the lug nuts until they are completely tight
  • Safely remove your tools and stow them in your vehicle’s cargo area

Spare tires are great for emergencies, but they can’t drive many miles. Come to our service center as soon as possible so we can install a new tire for you.
